Eid-ul-Fitr is an Islamic festival that spreads the message of love, peace and brotherhood. This Eid is also known as sweet Eid. Eid-ul-Fitr a festival of breaking of the fast, which is an important religious celebrated by Muslims .Eid-ul-Fitr is marks the end of Ramadan. Eid-ul-fitr is the month of shawwal. They are believed that Prophet Muhammad got the first revelation of the Holy Quran in this month. During Ramadan one month of fasting called a Roza, the break for fast in the morning is known as Suhur and the evening meal is known as Iftar. Fasting during the observance is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. People have their meals during this time after keeping fast for the whole day. Roza starts with the morning prayer Fajr Azan and after the sun sets, the Roza ends with the evening prayer Maghrib Ajan.
Why is Eid celebrated?
The first Eid-ul-Fitr. was celebrated by Prophet Muhammad in 624 AD after Jung-e-Badr. Prophet Hazat Muhammad was conquered in the battle of Badr. This festival is celebrated in the joy of his victory.
Eid-ul-Fitr. becomes a great occasion to thank Allah for giving believes the will power and endurance to observe the month long fast and follow rules is personal conduct.The Islamic practice of giving 'Zakat' is also upheld during this time. Giving charity and 'Zakat' which is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, is encourged during Ramadan. Just before Eid-ul-Fitr. Muslims part with some portion of their earning and grains for the poor and needy ones so that they can also celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. with joy.
